The Premier Developer Practice is a National Services Practice managed at the US-Level and aligned to the various sales districts across the United Sates. Senior Application Development Manager (ADM)

We are looking for senior level talent with a unique mix of client relationship management, delivery management, and application development skills to grow our business with a key partner in the Atlanta market.

In this role you will be interfacing regularly at the CxO and VP level and supporting the needs of the office of the CTO. You will be responsible for helping this client improve the overall quality and performance of their solution portfolio, migrating that portfolio to a SaaS delivery model, as well as supporting execution of the priorities identified in a recent portfolio rationalization process.

Ideally your experience includes development and solution architecture, program management, service delivery management, and implementation experience with SaaS delivery models particularly with Azure. In addition you possess strong communication and collaboration skills and are prepared to work effectively as a One Microsoft Services delivery team. Significant growth opportunity exists with this client, particularly in their business groups. So identification of opportunities and the ability to develop those will also be an important aspect of your role.

In this position your efforts will support this partner's ability to go-to-market with Microsoft-based solutions and produce business outcomes for their client's leveraging our platform. You will be jointly accountable (with the client) for realizing key outcomes that are central to their technology adoption strategy and application development processes.

In your role you will facilitate the engagement of a wide range of product and application development experts to assist the client in realizing their objectives. Many of the engagements will take the form of architecture roundtables, technology assessments, capability building workshops, prototyping, application design reviews, testing and performance benchmarking, code reviews, porting/migration assistance, configuration management, and general development consulting. You're background and experience will make you a trusted advisor to the client and you will be expected to make recommendations on approach and services needed to achieve their desired outcomes.

Your work will have both proactive and reactive components. Managing reactive cases and escalations to quick and timely resolution is another key aspect of this role.

Key Stakeholders

This position will have regular contact with:

Account Team - ATS and AE - required for contributing to overall account strategy and for partnering effectively to drive Azure consumption; also a point of escalation

Premier - Other Application Development Manager (ADM), Technical Account Managers (TAM) - required for account planning and coordinated delivery management as well as strategic alignment and renewal execution

Premier Developer Consulting Team - required for custom deliveries

MCS - Consultants/Enterprise Architects - required in the event Microsoft in contracted to perform actual software development services.

PFE - Developer PFE/DSE - required for delivering deep technical knowledge on specific technologies and expert level proactive workshop deliveries.

CSS - Support Engineers - required for establishing and receiving product support.

Microsoft Product Groups - Program and Product Management / some direct contact with developers - required to drive feature set issues and resolve software bugs.

This position has frequent contact with all levels of Microsoft managers and employees and frequent contact with vendors and customers.


BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. MBA desired but not required. Experience in the health care industry desired but not required. Strong demonstrable development experience/expertise in one or more of the following technologies is desirable:

o Contemporary Architecture, e.g. Cloud (Iaas, PaaS, SaaS)
o Mobile Development (MVC, HTML5)
o BI and Big Data (SQL Server, Parallel Data Warehouse, SharePoint)
o Visual Studio Languages (VB, C/C#/C++)
o Visual Studio Team Systems (MSF/Process; Test/Build)
o Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
o Distributed application architecture
o Web application development (ASP.Net., AJAX , Silverlight, Expression tools)
o Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) etc.
o SharePoint/MOSS/Office Server/Office platform
o SQL Server/RDBMS and related technologies like BI & Reporting Services
o Integration technologies like BizTalk
o .NET 3.0/3.5/4.0.... (WPF, WCF, Workflow Foundation)

Skill and experience

A strong business background in Fortune 500 and/or development experience with large complex business applications. The ability to move between high level design review and "roll up the sleeves" type of assistance across all phases of an application development project. Consistently practices strong organizational, communication, project management, negotiation, and problem solving skills. Development consulting experience is highly desired. This position requires approximately 30% travel.
