The Enterprise Services World Wide Sales team is responsible for planning, driving, enabling and transforming Sales within the Services business (both MCS and Premier), specifically the Sales motions required to grow Microsoft's strategy in Cloud, Devices, and Services with our partners. In addition, we work in collaboration with offering development as voice of the field and customer.

The Global Services Sales - Sales Desk Strategy Leader

The primary purpose of the Sales Desk Strategy Leader is to develop and drive the execution of a strategy which consolidates all of the current services sales desk resources into a single, well-understood resource. The impact of this resource is the production of high quality customer proposals for sales opportunities identified by our field sellers that accelerate their services selling opportunities.

In this critical role as the Sales Desk Strategy Lead, you will:

o Work across Services and Segment stakeholders to leverage existing corporate knowledge, facilities, resources including budgets to rapidly develop and communicate a clear direction and executable sales strategy for how the Microsoft's Services Sales organization manages and defines Sales Desk capabilities.
o Be the Microsoft voice, internally and externally, for all Sales Desk topics and will govern that we are managing to one sales desk system across the globe, removing the many variations that are in place today. This one system will be integral to our main selling system.
o Be the critical Leader to drive Sales Desk strategy alignment with EPG, BG's, and SMSP and other stakeholder who we need to partner with as part of the strategy.
o Determine how we calculate the before and after impact of the final Sales Desk strategy that we implement. The goal being developing new ways to increase revenue and penetration through the use of the resources that the sales desk brings to the field.
o Determine and make recommendations on any partner integration elements of the creation of Sales proposals as part of the sales strategy.

This Role will serve as a Key Advisor to the WW Services Sales Strategy Lead, and Services Sales Leadership Team.

Specific responsibilities, including, but not limited to, are to:

o Assess how the services organization, inclusive of the sales function, has previously executed our Sales Desk Strategy to where it is today, including the reasons and budget implications, sources and impact. Using this foundation, combined with current and future market insights, then determine the near and long term future strategy and execution plan that is required to maximize the success of the Sales Desk for Microsoft Services.
o Earn recognition, throughout Microsoft, as the lead Services expert for establishing an effective sales desk function and strategy integrated into all Services sales motions, based on deep understanding of Microsoft Services knowledge, and the differences that an effective Sales Desk function can make, derived from experience, data, and an understanding of customer needs.
o As a key influencer, be the voice of Services Sales to ensure that other parts of the Services organization not only understand the Sales Desk function, but are integral to its evolution (such as supplying editorial content and specific offering content) in support of the ongoing Services Sales transformation.
o Assisting the WW Services Sales Leader in integrating the Sales Desk into the overall Services Sales Strategy in a way that is logical and clear for the field and stakeholder consumption.

The successful candidate will have:

o Deep hands on experience developing and executing sales strategies for support services in a global, competitive environment, with a track record of successful outcomes measured in revenue and penetration.
o Deep, quota carrying sales experiences having sold to customers and developing long-term, sustainable relationships in the market
o Experiences of Sales Desk and Bid Desk development and management through proven career experiences; not simply the utilization of the resource.
o Services, Support and leveraging custom and standard proposals which resulted in deals won in a proven System Integration or large technology firm.
o Deep experience conducting global, cultural, complex, long-term transformations in Sales AND Services, in a major technology corporation with sustained results.
o Deep experience in Services Delivery, having served customers in multiple markets across the globe
o Deep experience operating at the most senior levels of a Fortune 50 Corporation.
o Experience dealing with a workforce of many thousands of Sales and Services professionals
o Expertise in working with clients at the CXO levels with deep impact in industries and communities across the globe.
o Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment and without concern about reporting structures.
o Masterful in influencing, driving and developing power in the most precarious of situations, and will not take defeat or no for an answer to achieve the Corporation's goals.
o A powerful personality and will be considered as a successor to the WW Services Sales Strategy Leader, in addition to being a high-potential candidate for succession within Microsoft for other positions.

This role will be based at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, WA, with global travel of approximately 30%.
