Microsoft is looking for a dynamic individual to deploy end-to-end Quality programs within Microsoft's Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) group. The Principal Quality Manager is a key leadership position within the organization with accountability to implement and manage end-to-end quality systems including strategy, processes, infrastructure, measurements/metrics, and continuous improvement imperatives. This is a critical role within the group, as well as across the broader Microsoft landscape. This leader will be responsible for strategizing, enhancing and leading a Quality management approach to a collection of hardware products and helping to institutionalize quality as a cultural attribute within the company.

For the purpose of this position, Quality is comprised of:

Product Quality for components to finished goods from early design (Design for Quality) through late in life processing at Repair & Refurbishment Centers.
Management of Factory Quality, defining quality requirements and ensuring suppliers predictably meets these high standards for quality.
Organizational deployment and use of Lean/Six Sigma problem solving techniques.
Driving the Quality Leadership Agenda and other processes with a focus on quality.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in Manufacturing and Quality systems and programs for large hardware organizations in the consumer electronics industry. A track-record of success in this space is a must, as is a demonstrated excellence at managing/leading people, building teams and driving cross-organizational partnerships to deliver on the results.

This is truly a leadership position. The candidate will be expected to champion Microsoft's quality vision, contributing to the success of the overall organization. In addition to strong leadership skills, the successful candidate will exhibit strength in the following MS competencies:

The candidate should also possess the following qualifications:

Worked as a Senior Leader of Quality, Operations, and/or Engineering in a global manufacturing or consumer electronics organization for at least 5 years.
Demonstrated track record of shaping and implementing organizational policy and procedures.
Experienced leadership role in leading and or people management with a proven track record of cross group partnership building.
Must demonstrate results in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment along with superb written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated track record in quality discipline utilizing methodologies including Six Sigma and/or Lean.
BS in Engineering or Quality Engineer certification.
