Roles and responsibilities:

We are looking for a passionate, high energy individual who will be directly responsible for supporting the growth and expansion of a portion of the deployment process across all Microsoft online services. As a Principal program manager in the DE&O team you will be part of the team responsible for the evolution of our Networking Deployment process including problem/incident management, jointly developing our tools roadmap, aligning the organization to a standardized process flow, and reducing variability in our process execution. This role identifies opportunities to adopt or develop better automation tools and/or technologies that deliver improvements in the deployment lifecycle driving efficiencies in core metrics as well as cycle times. This position works collaboratively with dev/test/PM on tools needs and automation roadmaps by developing detailed requirements and associated business impacts, then drives operational requirements, standards, processes and practices in alignment with MCIO business goals and requirements. Applies technical depth and knowledge of constraints to the deployment delivery eco system by trending to recommended process and/or design improvements. Creates strong partnerships across groups or services and influences others' decisions on process improvements, hardware, software, schedule, and manageability. Provides compelling arguments on behalf of deployment engineering and operations that effectively aligns MCIO on a single deployment workflow strategy. Generates consensus with stakeholders, customers, partners & business owners regarding designs/specifications for projects/services, which results in solid business results. This function will lead the organization in developing a deployment workflows and building the capability within the organization to execute on our roadmap.

Skills and qualifications:

Ability to deeply understand the Data Center business. This includes server and data center technical/architectural needs, capacity expansion needs and regional expansion plans and timelines as well as the drivers behind those plans and timelines.

Ability to drive all Deployment Engineering & Operations team (DE&O) owned deliverables for Networking Deployments - creating and actively managing the detailed project plans, dependencies, risks, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure all deliverables and work streams are completed on time and with quality.

Ability to drive constant innovation, improvement cycles and lean principles while bringing constructive tension and challenger mindset
Ability to provide team leadership while instilling a culture of continuous innovation and challenger mindset across global organization.

Basic qualifications:

o Minimum 8 years' experience in IT or supply chain related functions
o Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related
o Working knowledge of data center fundamentals

Experience required:

o Leadership with complex, cross functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, execution, and presenting results (required)
o Experience managing large scale enterprise programs from start to finish
o Experience managing cross functional, virtual teams
o Ability to build positive relationships and develop support from a wide variety stakeholders
o Strong executive and stakeholder communication/presentation skills
o Ability to manage projects in a matrixed team environment of FTEs and contractors

GNS Control Office is responsible for providing program guidance and management across planning, engineering, and deployment for DC and Edge site builds to support Microsoft's online services (Outlook.com, SkyDrive, Microsoft Account, Office 365, Bing and XBOX...). Our team is critical to the success of Microsoft as Services are both increasingly reliant on the network and our online services grow in their markets. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing resources, headcount, financials and overall growth of the team.
- Measure and drive improvement in organizational performance through identification and implementation of key performance metrics.

- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

- Excellent history of managing projects to deliver on time, to requirements and to a quality defined bar.
- Proven ability to establish trusted and effective relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.

Required Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in leading the design and building of large scale programs.
- Proven ability to establish trusted and effective relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Ability to establish credibility quickly.
- Strong managerial and leadership experience leading and working with network technical teams.
- Excellent problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects with conflicting priorities at the same time.

Experience Required:
- 7+ years of engineering project management experience
- A minimum of a B.S. in CS, related technical field, or the equivalent industry experience
- Experience with statistical analysis.
- Well-developed writing and presentation skills for a variety of audiences and tech depth
- Excellent history of managing projects to deliver on time, to spec, and to quality bar
- Proven ability to establish trusted, effective relationships across diverse sets of stakeholders
- Ability to quickly establish deep credibility with senior technical audiences
- Proven capability for spec writing and translating to an agile environment for implementation
- Program Management life cycle experience.

The Continuous Improvement Team is responsible for driving the problem management adoption for infrastructure capacity deployments across MCIO. As the capability to capture defect information grows, the capability to analyze and drive actions based on the data will become increasingly critical. This position will provide data analysis of the supply chain defects in the problem management system and drive remediation for the top 10 highest impact opportunities.

Roles and responsibilities:
Drive resolution to the top 10 problem areas affecting infrastructure capacity deployments
Perform data analysis to identify key improvement opportunities
Analyze data and perform RCA analysis either independently or as part of a broader team
Develop automation scripts to support RCA analysis i.e., pull data from multiple sources to expedite the RCA process
Analyze supply chain operations, systems, and resource models for potential performance risks
Communicate recommendations based on the analysis
Establish and monitor key indicators, as well as implement corrective action plans to mitigate risks

Skills and qualifications:
Ability to manage, prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent projects
Ability to develop scripts for collecting data from multiple data sources
Ability to analyze data and present conclusions
Ability to balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities
Proven ability to deliver projects on-time and adherence to deadlines

Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries

Experience required:
5+ years of problem manager or related experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
PMP/PgMP certification preferred.
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification or equivalent experience preferred
