PREMIER FIELD ENGINEER - Windows Server

Location: Bentonville

Premier Field Engineering is looking for a technical & passionate PFE to help our customers with the latest generation of Windows Server.

We are looking for a PFE with experience in technical design, driving projects, managing and building new relationships with internal and external customers and partners, and great team spirit. This person must be able to drive support consulting engagements, write technical and non-technical communications, and work effectively with our partners and customers to help make them successful in their enterprise manageability activities.

Candidate is expected to work effectively in cross-group situations and be able to drive towards integration-oriented solutions to provide Microsoft customers with reliable technical solutions to the complex integration problems associated with business solutions built on the Microsoft platform. The PFE Team supports a diverse variety of technical solutions built with Microsoft technology and products. Typical tasks performed in this role include specific problem isolation and correction, conducting supportability reviews, performance tuning, stability consulting/troubleshooting, configuration management, pre-rollout testing and general support consulting.

Strong business background in Fortune 500 and/or experience with consulting firms is desired. Overnight travel is required. This position is intended to be on-site with many customers and due to customer locations and changing customer needs may require up to 20% availability to travel.

Primary responsibilities include providing on-site technical support solutions for customer service delivery and availability, while ensuring satisfaction with Microsoft software on the client and server. The successful candidate will be capable of providing field technical support and proactive service presence for groups in the Microsoft Services organization, including but not limited to Premier Support, Microsoft Consulting Services, and escalation engineers (CPR). The Premier Field Engineer acts as the primary onsite technical contact, providing customer visibility, advanced technical troubleshooting support and problem resolution for Product Support Services and corporate customers, including issues escalated to the highest levels of management. The candidate will provide technical support including product technical training onsite, as well as via telephone, and electronic media. Candidate must be able to manage hot issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available 24x7 and professionally communicating to all parties involved.

Recommended qualifications include: Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills at the operating system level; exceptional customer service, overall communication and technical writing skills. Must have sufficient technical depth to communicate with development and other internal organizations at a peer level; Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal management supervision and as part of a nationwide team of engineers; Demonstrated aptitude for providing exceptional customer service in politically charged environments; Ability to enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development of product training, mentoring of new hires, and team content development; Ability to apply technology to improve existing products and systems at customers and for internal use; Ability to actively participate in team support by proposing and implementing solutions; Assist in developing strategies to gain additional Premier support accounts by contacting and establishing relationships with Premier Support Managers and Technical Account Managers.
Technical Requirements: Solid understanding of client/server, networking, and Internet technologies fundamentals. Candidate must possess superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in 2003/2008 Server and Microsoft client products, DNS, DHCP and other related areas with troubleshooting at the expert level within large network environments. In addition, the successful candidate must possess excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and other protocols including use of troubleshooting tools - scripting, resource kit diagnostic tools and packet sniffers and\or Netmon. Five or more years experience in systems development, network operations, and software support or I.T. consulting. Five or more year's industry experience with Microsoft products, effective learning skills, works well in a team environment, Strong problem-solving skills.
Secondary expertise required in: Windows desktop Operating Systems, desktop (Client) performance, deployment and optimization. Familiarity with SCCM and System Center a plus.
Education: College degree, preferably in Computer Science, is required. MCSE strongly preferred -- will consider related field (or equivalent) experience.

PREMIER FIELD ENGINEER - Windows Server

Microsoft's Central Region is looking for an experienced Premier Field Engineer to drive customer satisfaction, deployment, adoption and support of Microsoft's Active Directory and Security solutions for a dedicated Fortune 500 customer in Bentonville Arkansas. The primary product focus and responsibility will pertain to support of Microsoft's platforms technologies with specific emphasis in the following areas:

- Active Directory
- Active Directory Federation Services
- Active Directory Rights Management Service
- Active Directory Certificate Services
- Active Directory Security and Delegation
- Security best practices and implementation for Microsoft technologies

The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude with the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions, articulating the business value of Microsoft Platforms solutions and advising customers on the integration of complex Active Directory infrastructures in a highly distributed environment. This individual must be able to drive support-consulting engagements, write technical communications and work effectively with our partners and customers to help make their infrastructure solutions successful. This individual must also be able to listen for and recognize scenarios where customer needs may require complimentary solutions and be able to partner with Premier and Sales to drive successful customer outcomes.

Strong business background in Fortune 500 and/or experience with consulting firms is desired. Overnight travel may be required. This position is intended to be on-site with customers and may require up to 20% availability to travel. Candidates must possess current passport or be able to obtain passport within 90 days of hire. Candidates must be highly available.

Key Experience needed:
Experience focusing on large Active Directory infrastructures that are very complex
The ability to lead all aspects of the technical discussion by facilitating the customer's understanding of the product / solution through presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, deployments and troubleshooting and support
Demonstrated support throughout the product life cycle and developed / managed references through high quality technical and professional client and stakeholder relationships ensuring customer satisfaction.
Proven understanding of comprehensive security solutions with experience and ability to drive high level discussion about overall security implementation of Microsoft technologies
Experience as a resourceful problem-solver, leveraging internal partner resources in assigned customers leveraging Global Business Support and Enterprise Services when required.

Understanding of complex security scenario's with experience implementing and recommending infrastructure solutions that meet industry best practices for security
Ability to manage customer escalations and work under pressure
Capabilities to operate in a flexible team environment with minimal supervision

Education/Certifications:
A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields is preferred along with 5+ years of relevant experience, MCSE Certifications would be a plus.

Approximately 20% travel across the Central United States
