Enterprise Social (ES) can help our customers listen to their employees and customers, adapt the way individuals and teams work, and leverage the collective intelligence of their network. Microsoft's Enterprise Social vision started with the Yammer acquisition in 2012 and encompasses going forward Office 365, SharePoint, Lync/Skype, Microsoft Dynamics and more. In September 2014, Gartner recognized Microsoft as a Social Leader positioned highest in ability to execute and furthest in completeness of vision based on our offerings centered on Yammer and Office 365. The ES technical product marketing team is on point to transform Office thru cross-workload innovation.
As the Technical Product Manager you'll have an opportunity to shape the future of Enterprise Social and work across the Application and Services Group (ASG) to build and articulate a comprehensive, cross-workload strategy focused on driving usage of our solutions.
Key Responsibilities include:
Partner with engineering to identify key customer scenarios, determine product value and prioritize areas of investment.
Develop core marketing content for use by the broader product marketing team, serving as a valued technical marketing resource for various internal and external audiences.
Drive thought leadership as a spokesperson for ES, and a subject matter expert for internal training, go-to-market activities, blog posts, and presentations to customers and partners.
Work with AR/PR to drive and maintain positive press and analyst relations.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the Enterprise Social value proposition and a passion for new and emerging technologies and their impact on messaging and services is desired. This person will be a self-starter who can analyze problems quickly, develop innovative solutions, communicate ideas effectively, clearly prioritize activities and deliverables, operate independently, and manage multiple projects in parallel. A strong technical background is ideal and the interest and inclination to learn is mandatory, as are cross team collaboration, excellent communication, negotiation, and presentations skills. 5+ years' experience in product marketing and the willingness to travel occasionally are required although equivalent work experience will be considered. A technical degree coupled with experience in product management, consulting or an MBA is valuable.
