Partner Business Evangelist - Azure Application Performance Team (APT)

The Developer Experience (DX) organization is looking for an experienced business evangelist to work with our largest Commercial Global ISV (GISV) partners to successfully launch their Azure based applications. Microsoft the only company with a public, private and hybrid cloud platform that can power modern business and, the only company in the platform business who's also made the shift itself to being both a premises and cloud finished services provider. This plus our rich partnering experience is the backbone of what you will bring to the Commercial GISVs to help them successfully plan and execute launching their cloud apps alongside their existing business. You will be part of a specialist team working with ~70 partners and the DX Commercial GISV account managers and technical evangelists. Your actions will increase partner financial ROI, pull through Azure services and increase partner preference for MS.

As the Partner Business Evangelist working on the APT, you are MS' subject matter expert for the ISV's cloud business model. From the partner's initial cloud strategy through the planning, readiness and launch phases of the app, you will engage and counsel the partner through their business decisions. Your role is to sell the entire MS 1st and 3rd party cloud value proposition augmenting your own capabilities with the skills of the GISV account manager, other MS subject matter experts in cloud and with our business process transformation partners. Your engagements will be geared to specific partner outcomes needed to launch an app and time bound to the apps launch date and work back schedule. You create value by making Microsoft relevant beyond the Azure value prop and by improving each of the business outcomes necessary to launch an app e.g. cross functional executive agreement, app business plan, marketing readiness, channel readiness, operations readiness and launch execution.

These partners are going thru a transformation similar to what Microsoft is doing with Azure and Office365. They are the preeminent Commercial GISVs worldwide with existing premises based business. In this role you will help them transform faster, with higher quality and to a greater degree of success generating more value for the partner, more Azure consumption and greater partner preference for MS. Your actions will have a significant impact on their and MS' commercial cloud success.

This role includes the following skills and activities in support of the Azure apps of MS' GISV Commercial partners:
o Perform as a cloud business model specialist engaging on 5-15 applications at a time and 20+ applications a year.
o Engage in up to 13 different partner outcomes necessary to successfully launch an app across the phases of strategy, planning, readiness and launch and including specific activities e.g. indirect channel plans, marketing readiness, sales compensation planning, beta customer development.
o Lead the app launch activities across the MS v-team (DX and SMSG) working also with Marketing and Business development and engaging with senior executives externally and internally to influence their decision making.
o Coordinate with all parties engaged on the app ensuring common tracking and reporting of milestones/results.
o Ensure great leadership hand-offs from the GISV DX account manager and post launch to the EPG GAM.
o Engage cross company to improve programs that accelerate partner commitment to Azure and in-market success of the partner's cloud apps e.g. Azure marketing, DX evangelism, SMSG GTM.
o Effectively plan, budget, execute multi-million dollar marketing and business investment funds.
o Create recommendations that can scale your actions beyond the GISV partners to other managed partners.
o Develop and use your business insights to impact and influence others.

The ideal candidate must be able to drive results independently in an ambiguous and fast changing environment and, will have:
o Account management, sales specialist and consultative selling experiences preferably in cloud; at a minimum in high tech.
o Knowledge of Azure, the surrounding One MS value proposition e.g. MS IoT strategy, SMSG field capabilities.
o Knowledge of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, business models and emerging trends.
o Exceptional leadership - to develop this relatively new role and land it with results across multiple internal and external teams and with multiple partner v-teams.
o Cross-group excellence - to create new behaviors and programs across organizational boundaries in a collaborative manner.
o Executive presence -- be great at establishing credibility with senior executives in short periods of time, applying strategic concepts to partner scenarios in simple, actionable form.
o A passion for partners - especially in helping them market and monetize more effectively.
o Strong strategic thinking - to counsel ISVs on GTM strategies and be effective in complex organizational situations.
o BA/BS or equivalent 4-year degree.

The Developer Experience (DX) organization is looking for great candidates with a strategic, business, and technical understanding of Microsoft solutions and platform. As a member of the Emerging Experiences team, you will be responsible for driving cross-platform experiences that showcase our One Microsoft strategy and business impact our platform can have on the industry. You will manage field and executive escalations to ensure we accelerate opportunities through orchestration of specialized business and technical resources. This role will requires a candidate who can demonstrate business development and sales experience backed by strong technical grounding.

In this role, you would be responsible for:
o Ongoing evangelism of the Microsoft's cloud and mobile first strategy and solutions
o Creating business cases to enlist the support of specialist resources and funding
o Accelerating opportunities through quality engagements including ideation sessions, EBCs, partner and internal executive meetings
o Developing partnering agreements that showcase Microsoft solutions in innovative scenarios
o Developing account briefs to articulate your strategy compatible with overall account management best practices
o Building trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders and the partner's/customer's decision makers

The ideal candidate will have:
o Industry/Segment Experience: experience in cloud computing and mobile industries, with a deep understanding of technologies, business drivers, and emerging trends.
o Account Management, Partner Alliance or Business Development Experience: at least 7 years of experience structuring business deals that drive mutual benefits between companies. Proven record of developing growth strategies and growing new businesses. A passion for working with partners on driving platform adoption of Microsoft technologies.
o Technical /Functional Skills: An understanding of Microsoft technologies is mandatory, specifically our Mobile and Cloud offerings.
o Personal Attributes: highly motivated, results-driven with a positive attitude. Executive presence and a proven record of building trusted relationships with senior executives. Strong organization / prioritization skills are essential, with the capacity for driving high-quality partner activities with business impact. Exceptional leadership and community building skills. Strong communications and cross group collaboration skills essential. Exceptional decision-making, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and follow through.

Qualifications: bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent discipline required. MBA preferred.
