The Microsoft Xbox Team is responsible for a wide array of products including Xbox 360 and Xbox One game consoles, Kinect, high-performance optics, and gaming accessories. We are looking for an Optical Test Engineer develop and execute system level optical testing on world-class consumer electronic products. This resource should have extensive HW test experience with consumer electronics products; experience testing optical HW a plus.

Role
Represent the Optical Test group in project design development efforts. Work cross-functionally with other product development disciplines to ensure complete test coverage across all device performance requirements.
Define, develop, and document optical HW test cases in accordance with established optical test strategy and methodologies. Drive test execution throughout the product build cycle, including providing direction to V- resources. Analyze test data and present resulting performance measurements to cross-functional program members, program management, and leadership.
Assume responsibility for specific optical test process improvement workstreams and drive them towards successful completion.


Skills
Familiar with basic optical design concepts and theory
Experienced in execution of optical test strategies and methodologies.
Motivated, communicates well, and able to work independently with minimal supervision towards defined task milestones within a team environment.
Good organizational skills and capable of managing multiple simultaneous tasks effectively.
Familiar with typical lab equipment, including thermal chambers, stepper motors, thermocouples, and lighting controllers.
Good writing skills. capable of performing innovative and detailed data analysis, generate bugs, and write effective test reports.
Ability to independently break down large ambiguous information requirements to achieve effective test coverage


Requirements of the position
2+ years of product development and testing experience
Experience with Matlab , scripting programs, and mechanical aptitude all pluses.
University engineering degree
