Minecraft is one of the most popular video games of all time, with more than 100 million downloads on the PC alone. Minecraft inspires millions to create together, connects people across the globe, and fosters a community that is among the most active and passionate in the world. As part of Microsoft's acquisition of Mojang, we are building a small team in Redmond that will partner closely with Mojang to grow the Minecraft community and nurture the franchise.

The Minecraft Product Marketing Manager will work on product marketing plans for the console across all aspects of marketing including digital and retail software programs, licensed merchandise, strategic partnerships, and consumer events. This role will collaborate closely with our Production, Business Development, PR, Finance, and Studios leadership teams to grow Minecraft into one of the top global entertainment brands. The candidate will create a unified development and marketing vision for the product, working closely with internal development teams to hone product design and feature prioritization with a thorough incorporation of consumer and market needs. The candidate will help develop forecasts, create consumer value proposition and positioning frameworks based on in-depth target consumer understanding and validation. The candidate is creative and effective at optimizing results through owned, earned and paid marketing channels. This position will also guide the lifecycle of product strategy, from long-range portfolio and franchise planning to identify market opportunity and feature prioritization, up through brand extension, partnerships and data analysis. Equally important is the ability to effectively lead and build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders at Mojang, Xbox, and across Microsoft.

Specific responsibilities include:
o Relationship Building - Build and nurture strong relationships with studios, developers, and our global marketing organization.
o Marketing Strategy - Partner with Studios and Global Marketing teams to develop world class marketing campaigns against a robust product roadmap.
o Strategic Planning - Partner with Studios, Finance, and Business Development teams to develop long-range plans and the required budget and key performance metrics necessary to achieve them.
o Channel and GTM Excellence - Work with regional field teams on marketing and promotional strategies to drive the business around a consumer-first philosophy.
o Consumer Insight - Partner with Studios and Research teams to develop customer insights that help inform marketing tactics and long term investments.
o Marketing Representative - Represent Microsoft as appropriate at key industry events, presentations, and partner/executive briefings.

Qualifications
o Passion for Minecraft - Passion and knowledge of the Minecraft product is required.
o 6+ years of business and consumer marketing/PR experience across large scale consumer brands
o Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical skills and problem identification / resolution skills
o Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to effectively lead cross-departmental teams and articulate complex topics at varying levels of detail.
o Experience with Microsoft business and finance mechanisms strongly preferred.
