Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data driven engineering, cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability.

We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Role Overview:
The Data Center Services (DCS) group within GFS is looking for a team player to work in one of our mission critical Microsoft datacenters. The ideal candidate will have previous work experience in Datacentere Facilities Operation and Infrastructure Management. This candidate will be the leader and accountable technical authority for operations related to a large-scale mission critical facilities' mechanical infrastructure systems. In the Mechanical Engineer Role -- you will establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment throughout the production datacenter infrastructure. You will also maintain all DC related mechanical system design requirements and related documentation.
This role is also responsible for continuous development, refinement, implementation, management and maintenance of written procedures related to operating, maintaining, and recovering (emergency) the datacenter critical mechanical systems.

Technical Skills & Experience:
Deep technical understanding and experience with fuel oil storage, distribution & protection system, generators including the fuel, radiator and ventilation systems.
Technical knowledge on building automation systems including monitoring and alarm systems.
Working knowledge of electrical design requirements.
Working knowledge of computer-aided design software; proficiency in Microsoft Office software is a plus.
Strong technical knowledge in the operation of raised floor environments, various heating and cooling systems such as centrifugal chillers, chilled water, closed loop systems and thermal storage cooling systems, CRAH and CRAC air handling equipment and knowledge of water treatment practices.
Good understanding of adiabatic cooling systems, maintenance, and risks
Mastery of the refrigeration cycle and its application in the datacenter
Experience with alternative, energy efficient water treatment methodologies
Experience developing chemistry programs for process water treatment systems
Experience and theoretical based understanding of different concepts for cooling of datacenters.
Significant management experience in a production, mission-critical, revenue-dependent, 24x7 datacentere environment
Understanding of under floor static pressure and its value in a datacenter environment.
Experience with ultrasonic, quartz/UV, and steam canister humidification
Previous experience with high cycle of concentration systems a plus
Technical understanding of building automation and controls, ability to correlate reliability and availability.
Capable of management and administration of building control systems
Knowledge of construction techniques and terminology including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and documents is essential
Good understanding of and feeling for datacenter costs, and how the mechanical design impacts CAPEX and OPEX.
Experience in vendor management, ability to manage and monitor progress to ensure objectives are achieved for outsourced maintenance and projects.
Ability to manage, prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Ability to balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities.
Proven ability to deliver projects on-time and adherence to deadlines.
Proven ability to motivate disparate teams both direct and indirect to solve issues.
Proven ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations.

Proven track record as a Team-builder and leader.
Proven track record at vendor management in support and labor-based contracts.

basic management functions.

Required Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Process Engineering a plus
5 years' experience, datacenter Engineering
5 years' experience, Datacentere Facility Operation
5 years' experience, datacenter Commissioning and Integrated Testing
2 years' experience, IT Infrastructure Deployment
2 years' experience, Vendor Management
