Come join a dynamic engineering team and play a key role in the development and verification of the Xbox Kinect and Human Interactive Devices. We are looking for an experienced hardware design verification Engineer that has strong mechanical design and testing experience. The qualified candidate will draw upon his/her experience in validating the mechanical design at both component and system levels to deliver world class quality high volume consumer products. He/she will need to study the design specifications, drawings, and component datasheet, develop the test cases to comprehensively characterize and validate all the mechanical performance of the design, including tolerance analysis, robustness and margin testing, thermal performance and stress testing. He/she will also develop the test tools and fixtures, set up the right testing environments, execute the test cases within the specified time frame and report the results in the well documented format. In addition, he/she will also work closely with development team and the rest of the disciplines of the test teams, participate in product testing frameworks design, test tool development, test coverage definition and test methodology development and improvements.

Qualified candidates must have track record in mechanical components and systems validation for high volume consumer products. He/she is expected to be very familiar with mechanical design principles, hands-on design and/or testing experience on all mechanical aspects for both individual components and at the device level. Some electrical design or testing knowledge and experience is a plus.

In addition, a successful candidate will have effective written and oral communication skills, cross-organizational collaboration skills, very good project management skills, excellent technical knowledge including test process design and development.

Target qualifications:
BS in Mechanical Engineering (MSME preferred)
5+ years hands-on experience in testing consumer products at both component and system levels.
Experience in mechanical measurements such as force, torque, position and mechanical system performance. Proficient in using standard testing equipment.
Hands on mechanical design experience that can manage and support the special mechanical testing fixture developments.
Experience in hardware prototype bring-up, debug, fault detection, failure analysis, and yield improvement.
Experience with electro-mechanical components validation (switches, potentiometers and buttons)
Demonstrated experience in integrating with cross functional groups including EE, ME, optics and software, internally and externally.
Proficiency with solid modeling software (Creo Parametric preferred)
DOE and equipment MSA/Gage R&R experience.
Program management and budgeting experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Position requires occasional international travel
