Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data driven engineering, cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability.

We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers. Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

Product and Technology:
The Logistics Service Engineer position will work at the designated datacenter overseeing inventory duties and Asset Management within the facility. This position will serve as the main point of contact between the customer and the Logistics Teams and will report directly to the datacenter Operations Manager for the respective datacenter. The position will manage the day-to-day assignments of tasks/tickets, be responsible for updating and scrubbing the Receiving Team's Ticket Queue while being responsible and accountable for the overall performance against established SLA's and KPI's. This includes ensuring that established processes and procedures are followed, inventories are maintained and accurately recorded, tickets are routed appropriately, SLA terms are met, and that rapport / trust with the customer is established and maintained. This position will be responsible for understanding and complying with Global Procedures for daily processes and providing information on regional procedure requirements for contribution to Global Procedures for driving consistent business practices across the datacenter portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Receipt Processing - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring teams monitor and perform steps required to process incoming receipts.
Inventory Management - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring teams maintain and perform steps required to keep the inventory balance accurate as to what is currently on-hand.
Data Integrity Audits and Data Maintenance - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring teams process requests to audit data attributes of devices in the data center, to include inspecting equipment configuration.
Shipment Processing - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring teams monitor and perform steps required to process outgoing material transport requests.
RMA Warranty Processing - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring teams process failed vendor hardware devices using online/other tools. This process will include information processing, packaging, shipment, and receipt of return RMA devices.
Miscellaneous Asset Management Requests - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring teams process any miscellaneous request/task given by MS Asset Management.
Hardware Installations - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring device racking and installation by Logistics Technicians adheres to documented DC process and project specific requirements.
Decommissions - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be responsible for ensuring teams process decommissions based on notification obtained via the Decommission Tracker.
Vendor Management/Staff Augmentations Resource Management - On-Site Logistics Service Engineers will be required to coordinate with global and local resource providers and manage Vendors to accomplish tasks in response to spikes in work volume where is it not fiscally apropriate to maintain full time vendor resources.
Ensure teams carry out tasks and work activities as directed from local datacenter Operations Managers.
Assist with training each Team member and will be held accountable for overall team performance.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in production datacenters
Knowledge of IT infrastructure products
IT certifications (Server+, HP Warranty, etc...)
Experience working with Server OEM providers, i.e.: HP, Dell, IBM, etc.
Ability to both operate as a member of a larger global team while fostering a culture of teamwork for his/her respective local team.
Proven track record of both internal and external vendor management in maintenance based contracts.
Proven track record in process and procedure development and execution.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team to deliver against Company/Group Vision and Strategic Initiatives.
Lead and provide direction to his/her team specific to delivering services in a dynamic hosting environment.
Multi-Lingual: Proficient in communications in English and a second language, both in speech and written communications.

Required Basic Skills and Qualifications:
One (1)+ year proven logistics or warehouse lead experience.
Two (2)+ years of warehouse/supply chain experience to include use of hand trucks and other powered/non-powered lifting devices
Experience in vendor management, ability to manage and monitor progress to ensure objectives are achieved for outsourced maintenance and projects.
Proficient with use of MS Office Suite of products
Detail oriented individual with strong mathematical, communications and clerical skills
Ability to function well as a team player in a fast paced multi-task/multi-vendor environment
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute complex tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to quickly master use of internal asset management tracking tools
Must be able to function well in a fast paced multi-task/multi-vendor environment
Experience with inventory management systems including use of hand-held scanning devices
Ability to lift 25+ kg. above waist level without assistance
Flexibility to work off-shifts as requested or dictated by the flow of business
Strong knowledge of Cycle Counting, especially in an IT environment
