Microsoft Phones needs a Global Domain Owner (GDO), Software Configuration Management (SCM) to own the primary SCM system for Microsoft phones and lead a global virtual team to ensure SCM solution availability, end user support provisioning and contribution to the software delivery process by employing sound SCM principles. Another important responsibility area for this role is to work for Microsoft's engineering system in general, especially ensuring that R&D sites that locate geographically far away from each other have effective co-operation. For the beginning, this means special care taking on relationships between Redmond and Finland.

Role responsibilities
o SCM tool high availability, performance, client distribution and user support
o Owning the authentication and authorization mechanism for Microsoft hosted source code and software assets for Microsoft Phones, partner companies and 3rd party vendors
o Adopt best practices in the industry and be the source of SCM expertise in both tools and processes within Microsoft Phones
o Lead global Microsoft Phones SCM team and work as primary interface to other teams that can be also in in other organizations and countries and are responsible on other areas, like Continuous Integration, change management, Infrastructure and test operations.

o Own SCM domain and lead SCM team
o Reporting and way of working according to Microsoft Phones Quality Build & Integration way of working and practices
Reports to:
o Phones Quality SW Build & Integration Technology manager in project
o Phones Quality SW Build & Integration site lead in line

In addition, the skillset of the role holder must include:
5+ years experience with proven track record in
1. Understanding SW Configuration Management and hosting solutions that it needs
2. Working in SW development organization with more than 1 000 workers
3. Service provisioning and management to R&D with IT organization and Vendors (Vendor management)
4. Using and administrating SCM applications
5. Understanding of Open Source principles,
6. Knowledge on general legal requirements related to SCM.
7. Understanding how to work in global multisite team with common instructions and common goals
8. Ability to lead a team in project mode
