Come join a dynamic engineering team and play a key role in the development and verification of the Xbox Kinect and Human Interactive Devices.

We are looking for an experienced Lab Manager to operate an established hardware test lab and machine shop, direct lab technicians, verify project priorities, support lab infrastructure while continually identifying opportunities for improvement. As a successful candidate, you will contribute to lab modifications, upgrades, technician training and lab efficiency while ensuring execution according to accepted procedures for consistency, accuracy and timeliness of delivery. You will also be required to use independent judgment to provide tactical solutions for immediate issues/needs, contribute to risk management and participate in the development and clarification of expectations, scope and scale to achieve shared objectives and minimize redundancy.

Qualified candidates must have track record in managing a mechanical test lab and machine shop. He/she is expected to be very familiar with mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, machining and assembly.

In addition, a successful candidate will have effective written and oral communication skills, cross-organizational collaboration skills and good project management skills.

Target qualifications:
o AS in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
o 3+ years leading a technical team in a laboratory environment
o Experience in hardware prototype bring-up, debug, fault detection, failure analysis, and yield improvement
o Demonstrated experience in integrating with cross functional groups including EE, ME, optics and software, internally and externally
o Proficiency with solid modeling software (ProE/Creo Parametric preferred)
o Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (MasterCAM preferred)
o Mastery of machine tools
o Ability to model and paint prototype units
o Program management and budgeting experience
o Strong oral and written communication skills
