Overview:
We are looking for a smart, high energy senior marketing manager for education portfolio planning on the Windows Marketing Business Planning team. The role will be located in Redmond. If you are interested in working with our leading OEM device and Silicon partners and a wide variety of internal teams from OSG product teams to the worldwide education team as a trusted advisor and planner to them this role is for you. This role is responsible for managing the Windows device portfolio planning for education between Microsoft and our OEM partners to drive Windows education market share with Shape the Future and new education SKUs. You will be responsible for setting the portfolio targets and driving the efforts across teams to ensure we have the right devices with the right specs at all price points to meet Microsoft's education strategy and lever our platforms and technologies. You will build deep relationships with our partners that scale from Senior Vice Presidents down to hardware and product planners and establish a trusted advisor status enabling you to impact product roadmaps to align with the Microsoft strategy. You must possess a strong knowledge of Microsoft's products and technologies as well as a strong background in PC and Phone hardware combined with great relationship skills to be successful in this exciting role. In addition to partnering deeply with our OEMs, you will work closely with Microsoft internal partners including OSG Product Marketing, OSG PCE team, OEM Account, Marketing and Design-In Managers as well as various Microsoft business and product groups.

Key Responsibilities:
Market and compete analysis
Device user research
TAM/Opportunity matrix analysis
Competitive device tracking versus Apple and Chrome/Android devices
BOM impact analysis for HW features and components

Education device requirements and specs
Device archetype definition and specs to meet market requirements
Service and feature alignment
Education SKU, sales motion alignment and tracking
OEM GTM and channel alignment including programmatic marketing and incentives

Portfolio and design-in planning
In market portfolio views
Establishing device priorities and set the target OEM portfolios
OEM portfolio design-in planning with gap and opportunity analysis to ensure we have the optimal education portfolio of devices
Featured device program management and alignment to lever the eco system

Functional Skills:
Marketing analytical skills
A broad understanding of Windows Operating systems and phone hardware/software technologies
Understanding of Microsoft's OEM ecosystem
Experience in external partner interaction and expectation management.
Experience managing executive level interactions and communications internally and externally

Required Qualifications:
Advanced marketing and/or product related degrees, 5+ years of industry experience related to PC/Tablet/Phone device marketing and/or product development. Strong background in Operating System concepts, a good understanding of the windows and phone market place and new technologies and trends in the PC / phone space. Must be able to present Microsoft technologies to customers and large audiences. Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
