Microsoft is a world leader in the design of personal computer input devices. We are currently looking for a person with a passion for technology to drive test methodology development and product verification for PC peripherals. As a design verification engineer, the candidate will play a key role in architecting test processes, tools, and methodologies for use across Microsoft Hardware's product portfolio as well as bring new products to market by leading test and validation activity on fast paced multi-disciplinary product development teams.

Role & Opportunity:
Key interface with 3rd party vendors to manage and drive multiple highly complex projects that involve key development initiatives.
Directly contribute to design, development/ integration, unit testing, performance and debugging across the platform.
Digest Product, carrier and 3GPP specification and create test plans
Activities include develop and execution test plans and procedures. Define functional, stress, system, and other types of testing across vendors and internal teams.
Interact with customers and handle product related issues, mobile broadband related tests, work closely with Equipment vendor, support IOT and Field test activities.
Work closely together with other team members such as development, design verification, quality/care, and 3rd party vendors.
Design verification activities to ensure design quality is driven into our product line.
Identify and develop test tool requirements, and participate in specification and design reviews. Must be able to direct and prioritize program certification related milestones.
Establish and drive vendor engagement relationships with Surface 3rd party vendors. Ensure vendor related bugs are driven and tracked within the program. Ensure complex bugs are root caused and communicated back to customer.

Qualifications:
o BS / MS degree in CS or EE
o At least 6 years of engineering, and product experiences in the wireless industry with proven experience. Development of stack, networking experience is a plus
4-6 years of product development experience, with at least 4 years of combined experience with CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE technology
o Experience in full product cycle is a must
o Demonstrated track record in development and deployment of products and new technologies, as well as process development and execution.
Experience and established relationship with operators and 3rd party certification labs
Demonstrated hands-on testing on various conformance and Operator certification test equipment, experience is testing windows based product is a Plus
o Excellent knowledge on Carrier specification, Test case. Execution and debugging skills,
o Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communications skills
o Good knowledge of Windows Networking Drivers, MBIM Specification and various IPS methods such a USB, SDIO, HSIC is essential.
o Team-oriented approach with the desire to both teach and learn from others
o Proven ability to build relationships across the organization and work independently
o High enthusiasm towards learning about new technology trends and wireless products

Job Description:
As part of the Surface design verification team, we are looking to hire a candidate who will be responsible for setup and execution of audio test plans. Typical tasks include the setup of acoustic test equipment and controlled environments. Attention to detail when setting up the systems is critical to ensure accurate post processing of data is possible. A successful candidate would be able to perform some analysis of the collected data and present results vs test specifications and plot test parameter distribution across the units measured.

Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in Computer Science Tech, Electrical Engineering Tech, Electronics Engineering Technology or related areas
Electro-Acoustic knowledge and experience
Minimum 10 years' experience in lab setting including setup and operation of test equipment
knowledge of Windows operating systems
knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for recording data and generating reports

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with audio test equipment
Knowledge of audio quality metrics
Familiarity with Excel macros and analysis is an asset

Job Description:

As part of the Surface design verification team, we are looking to hire a candidate who will be responsible for setup and execution of system test plans, focusing on the area of system power. The testing is broad in scope and includes electrical power supply testing, power distribution and power consumption of Surface tablets to ensure products meet and exceed defined targets necessary for excellent customer experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma in Computer Science Tech, Electrical Engineering Tech or Electronics Engineering Technology
Minimum 5 years' experience in test, debug, rework and soldering of microelectronics
Minimum 5 years' experience in electronics lab setting including setup and operation of test equipment
Familiarity with electrical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, DC electronic loads, data acquisition equipment, etc
knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows 7 and Windows 8.1,
knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for recording data and generating reports

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Theoretical and practical knowledge of PMICs (power management IC), switch mode power supplies, low drop-out linear regulators, load-switches
Experience with National Instruments software and Labview for data acquisition for voltage/current/power measurements
Experience with automation of test hardware using various languages (powershell, national instruments, etc)
Experience with C/C#, powershell

Roles and Responsibilities
As a member of the design verification team, the candidate will be responsible for the complete end to end verification of our products to ensure a fantastic user experience. The candidate will participate in the development of our products from product inception to mass production.
- This candidate will own the thermal testing and battery testing for the Surface products post launch.
- This will involve firmware and or driver testing for the component controlling thermal sensors, battery and charging scenarios
- Involves operating and reworking the dev-kits to create automation for testing battery and thermals
- Creating new automation fixtures to assist in scenario testing.
- Collaboration with the product team to understand existing automation and improvements
- Helping out the product team on new products
- Thorough understanding of the driver/firmware for the host in question and I2C protocol.
- Ability to work with scopes and USB analyzers.
