Become a part of history in establishing the new long-term growth plan for Microsoft's flagship products. This position is responsible for driving new business development for the Consumer business within the OEM division. This role will be responsible for identifying the growth path for the next $1B+ of consumer revenue for the OEM division across royalty revenues and post-sale monetization (PSM) opportunities. This role looks across all consumer products and services that Microsoft's OEM partners sell and promote. The role will partner with sales, marketing, engineering, operations, and finance teams to drive to clear opportunities.

OEM generates approximately one-quarter of Microsoft's revenue and half of its profit. Though the products have historically enjoyed sustained year-over-year growth, we are at an inflection point. We must address heightened competitive pressures, shifting customer preferences, emerging business models and channel pressures. At the same time, the opportunities are bigger than ever for Microsoft to grow in the areas of tablets, phones, cloud-first PCs and premium notebooks.

This role reports to the Director of WW OEM Pricing and Business Development and has substantial visibility to the VP of OEM Marketing, MNA Account GMs and CVP of OEM. We seek a determined, analytical, creative, and experienced business leader to join us in developing a robust growth plan.

More specifically, this individual will be responsible for:
o Identifying new business opportunities with our current business model
o Leading the effort to create new business models to drive growth via royalty businesses and post-sale monetization
o Partnering with teams to move from growth ideas to concrete business plans that can be implemented
o Working closely with our product and services teams to align on new business opportunities
o The successful candidate will have a strong background in the consumer business, be an excellent problem solver, be able to provide structure to undefined business problems, and have strong cross-group collaboration and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
o In addition to a strong background in consumer businesses, candidates must have strong sales or business development skills, finance/analytical skills, demonstrate a track record of clear strategic thinking, problem solving, data-driven decisions, excellent business analytics, and the ability to inspire confidence in senior leaders.
o A minimum of 8+ years of experience in business development, business planning, strategy consulting, technology banking, or product management is required. MBA preferred.

This role within OEM Marketing will lead the overall PC form factor portfolio strategy. This individual will drive market and competitive analysis to develop and execute the portfolio strategy that will provide the company with an innovative, differentiated, competitive and scalable OEM partner portfolio that spans form factors, consumer segments and price points. They will drive the global portfolio requirements into the Windows product teams to align platform support and within the ODM/OEM ecosystem to deliver on the device IDs for local relevance and global scale. They will develop a multi-year plan for the PC form factor portfolio strategy and represent strategies, competitive position and business impact in front of Senior Executives in the OEM and Windows Division.

This individual will be responsible for the global PC form factor portfolio plan and lifecycle, including defining specification requirements, price tiers, target markets and consumer segments. They will work with the National Account and ODM Account teams to drive portfolio plans and requirements with the ODM/OEM ecosystem to deliver on the portfolio plan. They will manage the introduction of device portfolio changes/updates to field teams. And develop and evaluate progress and performance for the portfolio plans and schedules against key performance metrics and objectives.

This individual will develop the PC form factor portfolio value proposition to convey our strategy, partner opportunity and competitive position to partners to successfully grow our business thru the ODM/OEM ecosystem. They will work directly with the Windows Business Group to align OEM messaging to the platform messaging. And ensure our ODM/OEM ecosystem is armed to represent the value proposition to their sales channels and consumers.

They will assess each selling seasons PC form factor portfolio from the ODM/OEM ecosystem to make investment recommendations to Windows Marketing, enterprise and consumer channel teams.

This role must be able to analyze market trends and data, as well as lead projects from beginning to end, including running cross-organizational v-teams and reporting out to management, delivering projects per plan and per budget. The role must be able to participate in deep-level market and competitive discussions with the Windows Business Group, Finance, PCMIT and OEM Marketing & Sales teams. This role must provide insightful input to broader processes, such as OEM/ODM ecosystem and consumer requirements that impact the partner programs and onboarding. This role must partner effectively with ODM/OEM Account teams to ensure effective landing of portfolio strategy. This role must be able to produce, maintain and report on market dynamics, competitive activity and OEM strategies to address to present to the leadership team and identify and evangelize changes and updates in these areas. This role must both oversee the sales performance, as well as translate the data into actionable outcomes and strategies in the overall PC form factor business plan.

Experience:
o 8+years of related product management experience in hardware industry, preferably PC arena.
o Proven history of successful business planning and execution

o Proven ability to develop competitive analysis and extrapolate to product plan and business impact
