The Position:
The Technology and Process Development Group for Next Generation Devices (NGD) has an immediate opportunity for an experienced coating/sealant/finish technology leader. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Individual to support the selection and development of polymer solutions for advance application coatings and finishes that support leading and competitive solutions as part of our global business.

The Role:
The Sealant/Coating Technology Director will lead the selection and development of suitable coatings/sealant/finishes that are required to support the desired application/usage conditions of our products. He/she will strongly engage with Industry leaders in understand trends and direction of the industry and be a strong influencer on design and material selection associated with product design and development. This individual will be an integral member of the NGD Technology and Process Development Team that is responsible for executing and delivering on transformational initiatives that support strategic revenue and market growth opportunities.

The Sealant/Coating Technology Director will be responsible for delivering creative solutions that brings a competitive advantage to Microsoft Hardware Products. He/She will drive the decision process on selection and development based on sound engineering principles and by engaging design, engineering and sourcing stakeholders in the process while clearly managing critical commitments to cost, readiness and performance. The successful candidate will own driving the development cycle including discovery, development and deployment activities in time for critical product launches.

In addition this role will own establishing the right roadmap that will support product and application requirements of the future. This will be achieved by having a strong established relationship with the critical players in the industry and by following and influencing industry trend and focus.

The Person:
This person will need to have demonstrated leadership and willingness to accept ownership of driving solutions to difficult problems. This will include playing a strong leadership role in the leadership management team and bringing the right level of technical and engineering capability to the table regardless of organization boundaries.
In addition the candidate needs to have a proven track record of leadership within technical teams. He/she will need to have a strong engineering discipline and can quickly assess the technical and engineering implication and drive the organization in the right direction.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership in the following areas:
1. Making decisions about people and budgets that shows a strong level of accountability and ownership, and providing inputs during management review session that sets the tone for the organization has a whole.
2. Leading and driving specific product design discussions across manufacturing and supply base groups.
3. The ability to engage at the right level with both technical and Industry leadership.
4. Accountable for establishing the right metric and success criteria for new production/manufacturing solutions.
5. Engaging with peer and support teams to transfer and deliver solutions in a seamless and organized fashion.
6. Demonstrated experience and learning's has a customer of an Advance Technology Development Group with knowledge of the challenges and difficulties with new process and technology adoption.

Qualifications:
1. BSc/MSc in an adhesive/polymer development Industry with 15+ years demonstrating engineering leadership in a multinational corporation.
2. An established record of leadership in a Technology Development Role.
3. Proven track record of implementation of game changing solution that has resulted in proven leadership in bring unique solutions to the table.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with demonstrated success in upward communication to senior management.
5. A strong demonstration of the application of structured problem solving on big problems (> $500M) and the ability to quickly provide distinct and precise updates to senior management.
6. Proven leadership record, team development, and strategic planning and implementation.
7. Adept at managing internal and external relationships through use of interpersonal skills
8. Ability to work in diverse cultural environments with cultural sensitivity.
