The Director of Business Management will be a strategic partner to the General Manager, assisting in all business aspects that drive the team's success. An understanding of Microsoft's rhythm and processes as well as a wealth of understanding of the different elements of EPG and their relationships to the other Microsoft BGs and Organizations is paramount.

This role requires someone with a broad business background who understands how to get things done in a complex organization, largely through influence and collaboration. It also requires the ability to understand how to improve business processes through effective planning, management and execution. You'll have primary responsibility for managing the business operations, planning rhythm, and internal systems of the organization, and will also be responsible for working closely with other key partners to support the Cybersecurity and Data Protection group. You'll be providing insights and actionable recommendations and executing to drive a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

The role itself is an interesting and unique hybrid of several traditional roles - management consulting, project management, strategic planning, operations strategy and execution, and financial planning. This is a great opportunity to help scale and influence a fast growing and important business for Microsoft.

Strong candidates will have proven experience in managing projects and schedules, and a demonstrated capacity to drive results, be flexible, and deal with high degrees of ambiguity. Exceptional relationship and communication skills in working with peers, senior executives and others are essential, as is the ability to work to tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
ROB Management - Create and manage the team's specific rhythm of business (ROB), including all-hands, staff meetings, LT meetings, reporting, etc. to help the business to run smoothly and effectively. Must be able to partner with a wide range of individuals within the division and across the company to integrate necessary activities and drive for optimal results.
Communications - Partner with Marketing/Communications Manager to align internal communications including organizational announcements and cascade of the rhythm of business. Own and manage content on SharePoint sites relevant to special projects and cybersecurity business management. Develop presentations for both internal and external audiences, including content creation and orchestration across the team as well as security-related teams across the company. Incudes preparing presentations for industry level conferences.
Collaboration - Provide clear communication and help facilitate collaboration across a team that is dispersed worldwide
Budget Management - Manage the team's OPEX budget, working with the finance controllership team and budget stakeholders to drive effective yearly, quarterly and monthly budgeting processes, and to ensure tracking, analyzing and follow-up on all budget-related activities take place. Also includes developing and rolling out new systems and processes related to budget management when necessary.
Organizational Agility - Be a sounding board on key organizational topics and a consultant on key business decisions. Help interview and assess candidates. Act as a triage point for the team where input is needed from senior leaders
Special Programs - Manage and drive ad hoc special projects across EPG, such as Sales Impact Sales Training videos. Project manage executive film shoots for schedule and deliverables, develop content scripts with SMEs, ensure content meets high bar and aligns with organizational strategy and EPG business goals.
Compliance Management - ensure the organization is 100% compliant with business continuity, disaster recovery, privacy, security, risk and audit requirements, standards and policies. Operations Management - ensure a focus on continuous improvement and streamlining processes.

A minimum of 10 years of related industry experience spread across one or more of the following disciplines: business management, program management, alliance management and enterprise solution services (large SI) experience. Experience should include business development or Partner/alliance management.
BA or equivalent 4-year degree (English, Business, and Communications) or related work experience. MBA/Masters preferred.
Ability to organize people, projects, and programs at a senior level independently. Experience leading and driving complex projects with multiple work streams spanning different businesses and disciplines
Must have experience supporting C level executives.
Excellent skills in all aspects of planning, cross-group collaboration, communications, analytical capabilities and attention to detail. He or she should have a passion and proven record for execution with measurable results.
Action-oriented; a history of delivering complex projects on time with high level of quality.
Demonstrated virtual team leadership capabilities and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
