Are you ready to apply your marketing expertise to re-platform Microsoft's $45B+ commercial volume licensing business and ensure licensing acts as a key enabler for SMSG and Microsoft's broader transformation? The World-wide Licensing & Pricing Business Marketing Group is looking for a highly skilled marketer and leader to modernize and simplify messaging, marketing and readiness content and equip field and partners with materials that make it easy to understand, buy and use volume licensing solutions.

Microsoft's commercial licensing is used by organizations of all sizes from large enterprises through to small businesses, and public sector organizations. As customers' needs evolve to a cloud services and multi-device environment, it is critical we provide them with licensing that enables easy adoption of cloud services and supports software where needed. As a licensing marketing team lead your role is pivotal in landing licensing successfully with our customers, partners and field.

Your responsibilities will include:
Lead the licensing marketing team, made up of experienced marketing professionals, including setting priorities, driving marketing innovation and creativity.
Contribute to the Business Marketing Group leadership, with input on strategy, priorities and planning.
Lead marketing fundamentals - with compelling positioning, messaging & storytelling: create core content and collateral for licensing solutions. Refresh voice, tone, range of marketing materials. Ensure partner, customer, and, particularly, seller voice is reflected.
Create effective training materials that ensures field, partners and customers can understand and transact licensing scenarios.
Plan and collaborate closely with the audience marketing team, so that web, PR and readiness functions can meet their goals using the marketing and training materials produced by your team.
Manage new licensing introductions through orchestration with BG Marketing Groups, Segments (EPG & SMSP) and partners.
Create evidence and stories that engages customers and demonstrates licensing value proposition.
Collaborate across organizational boundaries to land licensing changes and achieve adoption goals.

Success in this role means you will have a passion for marketing solutions to business customers and have a proven track record of working across field and partner marketing and sales organizations. You must have the ability to demonstrate executive maturity and strong collaboration with senior leadership teams. A good understanding of Microsoft's major business products and services would be advantageous.

10+ years of marketing experience in the development and implementation of marketing programs, including messaging, campaign design and creative. Having sales experience would be a plus.
Domain knowledge in the software or licensing solutions marketplace.
Working knowledge of the software/licensing partner ecosystem, plus familiarity with the Microsoft field structure.
Strong cross- group collaboration, impact and influence, interpersonal awareness, communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated track record leading successful teams.
Confidence collaborating with various business and technical leaders.
An undergraduate degree in Marketing or equivalent work experience is required.

This position will be based in Redmond, WA at Microsoft headquarters, with global travel expected to be approximately 10-20%.
