The device marketplace is undergoing a rapid transformation with the growth of smartphones, tablets, smart watches and new form factors. New consumer brands are entering the device market and the China Technology Ecosystem is playing an increasingly important role in driving device innovation and intensified competition among hardware and operating system companies.

This role focuses on leading business strategy & planning for the Windows Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) business across PCs, 2in1s, tablets, phones and new form factors. The role leads cross-organizational teams to identify and analyze new Windows business opportunities in the OEM channel and will define and frame executive recommendations for how to evolve the Windows OEM strategy, pricing and licensing with the goal of maximizing the Windows device business opportunity. The scope spans creation of new programs to unlock new business opportunities, pilot and launch those programs, and manage in-market program performance. This is a strategic role with high visibility and impact. The role requires leadership and interpersonal skills, curiosity, business & operations strategy skills, deep analytical skills and great influence skills to be successful. We are looking for an individual who is highly driven, passionate about Windows and the device hardware & OS market, and is a creative and analytical business strategist. The role sits at the center of gravity for OEM and device market strategy inside Windows and Microsoft. You will partner closely across marketing, sales, finance, legal, engineering and other teams to develop holistic recommendations for Windows OEM offerings, programs & pricing that sets up Windows for success in a highly competitive marketplace.

Responsibilities include:
o Lead customer, ecosystem & competitive analysis to build long-term strategy and pricing plan for the Windows OEM business
o Lead analysis of the HW supply chain to capture trends and shifts in the device market and PC industry
o Drive definition of new business model and pricing programs to optimize for business goals
o Frame, present and drive decisions on strategic options for Windows OEM products, programs, pricing & licensing with executives
o Provide leadership for primary research of the OEM device market landscape in partnership with research team and other groups
o Lead implementation on new business model and pricing programs by crafting business requirement documents and licensing requirements necessary to implement Windows OEM offerings in close partnership with finance, sales, operations, etc
o Lead readiness efforts with the OEM sales organization to build a deeper understanding of the sales motion and customers' needs

o Deep analytical skills and creative problem solving skills
o Strong quantitative skills and experience from advanced primary research & financial modelling
o Great presentation & storytelling skills and experience influencing internal and external executives
o Proven experience in preparation and delivery of executive level and field presentations
o 10+ years' experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business planning, product marketing, consulting, finance and/or market research
o Strong passion for Windows and the device market

Preferred qualifications:
o Bachelor of engineering (computer science, electrical education or similar)
o MBA or a Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics
Experience from OEM or consumer electronics business in strategy/operations/pricing/licensing/planning or similar, preferably on Microsoft products
