The Business Manager for the World Wide Public Sector organization is accountable for driving tangible impact on an organization of over 150 team members impacting the Public Sector field and revenue of over $10B. Reporting to the CVP of Microsoft's WWPS group and based in Redmond, the Business Manager will be a trusted advisor to the leadership team and respected business partner to other teams within WWPS and the Enterprise Partner Group (EPG). This role partners closely with the leadership team to ensure operational and organizational priorities are effectively implemented within the organization in a timely manner, allowing high quality execution against business plans and the achievement of the strategic mission and vision of the organization. The Core areas of focus are: Strategy & Business Excellence (Driving ROB Process): Partner closely with Sales Excellence, Director of Communications, and Executive Assistant to manage ROB and ensure consistent cadence and execution Coordinate communication, consistent processes and best practice execution across WWPS business manager community; nurture and mentor WWPS business manager community members Participate in ROB monthly/quarterly business reviews/updates, meetings, and calls Strengthen Business Partnerships / Stakeholder Management: Be a trusted advisor to the CVP on topics within the WWPS organization through developing relationships and securing context for meetings and key business priorities. Drive stakeholder alignment checkpoints across WWPS and Microsoft Aggregate and develop output at an executive level for key business reviews such as MBR, QBR and MYR Ensure CVP and the leadership team are prepared and well-represented in budget and strategy reviews Plan, formalize, facilitate meetings with business partners, (internal) customers and stakeholders at Corporate and in the field Operations Leadership: Partner with Director of Communications and Executive Assistant to plan and run All Hands meetings, Staff meetings, and other org-wide meetings (both online and onsite). Drive activity completion across all FastStart and other training milestones, define and manage SES awards and recognition (budget, nomination and selection process). Manage and develop strategy and process for rewards and recognition, including awards. Own central poll process actions / coordination for team. Requirements: The position requires an individual who understands how to get things done at Microsoft through influence and collaboration and has a broad business background. It requires extensive inter-personal skills, excellent business planning skills, cross-group coordination at all levels, business acumen, and the ability to work on several diverse projects at the same time. The individual must show passion about IT, our customers, our technology and our people. In addition, this individual must have demonstrated ability for executional excellence and experience building relationships, working with technical people and collaborating across large organizations. The Business Manager should have strong analytical/problem solving skills, expertise in business process optimization, outstanding organizational skills and agility, strong communication skills (verbal and written), proven project management skills and be a motivated self-starter who handles confidentiality without exception. Preferred Qualifications: Strong strategic thinking skills and conceptualizer Strong business acumen and capability to ramp up quickly on the Public Sector business Proven ability to impact and Influence at all levels of the organization, including at the senior leadership/executive levels Strong written and verbal communications capabilities Proven experience in effecting change, driving business process optimization and organization design through effective cross group collaboration and group evangelization in a matrix organization Demonstrated track record of exceeding established goals on a consistent basis Organization agility, business savvy and ability to work across organizational boundaries to build alignment and drive closure on issues Ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate through uncertain situations to drive for clarity High personal accountability for self and others Experience in business operations management including budgeting, financial analysis, FP&A, forecasting, business performance & reporting 10+ years of business experience in the technology industry
