You are an expert in business strategy (preferably in the training/learning industry) with a stellar track record in building new businesses by developing, defining and negotiating key industry partnerships. You will open up new market opportunities and channels that drive Microsoft training & certification reach and revenue in the new Mobile First, Cloud First world. The by-product of these new opportunities will be the millions of people skilled on the new Cloud skills through your go to market strategies, helping shape their individual careers and the successful deployment of Microsoft technologies in their organizations.

We are looking for a senior Business Development Manager responsible for partnering with product, engineering & marketing leadership to define and execute on business development strategies and programs for Microsoft Learning Experiences (LeX). LeX is part of the Developer Experiences (DX) group. The role provides executive visibility and thus requires commensurate communication skills. Core competencies in the role include: strategic, innovative and structured thinking, strong business networking ability, senior level presentation and partnering skills and project management. Experience and deep understanding of US and global learning trends, landscape & economics is a must

It's an exciting time to join the LeX team. We're at the leading edge of Microsoft's transformation to a Mobile First, Cloud First organization, enabling our customers to realize the promise of our platform and productivity, through the LeX portfolio of training and certification.

This position will be responsible but not limited to:
Owning the partnership strategy with leading industry players in the learning space that add incremental solution value to existing customers via existing GTMs and net new customers via additional GTMs
Delivering key partnerships/deals enabling evolution and growth of LeX reach & revenue.
Identify untapped revenue potential within existing solutions/GTMs
Establish and articulate the value proposition for partners and end customers
Drive ongoing opportunity analysis, competitive insights and response recommendations to assure relevancy and competitiveness of BD programs.
Contributing to product strategy by applying industry expertise and market / partner insights
Develop and contribute to the execution of Business Development strategy
Plan and facilitate deep conversations with our partners to understand mutual opportunities, their requirements, pain points and ways to address these with relevant product offerings

The success of this role is measured by success and effectiveness of new business models, programs and partner lighthouse wins. That success is assured only by a high degree of innovation paired with attention to detail as well as a deep, pragmatic understanding of how Microsoft and the evolving learning landscape works.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
A minimum of 10 years' experience in Enterprise software sales with an emphasis on solution sales in the Training & Certification area for a majority of this time, enterprise consulting or equivalent experience desired
Strong understanding of training industry (Instructor Led & Online), business drivers, and emerging trends as well as the impact of these on field sellers, partners, and customers
Good knowledge of Microsoft organization (SMSG), strategy, and sales motions (EPG and SMSP).
Experience in Marketing functions a plus, but not required
Strong analytical/business skills and ability to think strategically about the business while effectively landing short term projects
Excellent cross-team collaboration skills, long-term program management, and entrepreneurial spirit (self-starter).
Executive level communications skills and ability to present to large audiences
