Developer Engagement Manager - Global Publishing
The ID@Xbox team within Microsoft helps support independent developers to self-publish their games on Xbox One and Windows 10, using the full complement of Xbox Live services: Gamerscore, Achievements, multiplayer and more. The ID@Xbox team helps developers through all phases of the development, certification, and shipping process, and also works to help amplify developers' promotional activities via social media and digital channels, and event support at shows like E3, PAX, and GDC. We are a diverse team of highly motivated self-starters that is passionate about working hard to enable independent developers to have a great experience in the Microsoft ecosystem, and maximize the potential and performance on their games on Windows 10 and Xbox One.
The ID@Xbox Team is looking for an experienced Developer Engagement Manager who is excited to work with independent developers to enable their success on Microsoft platforms and devices. Are you up for the challenge?
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of the gaming industry. He/she will have passion for helping to grow the gaming business at Microsoft and enhance our portfolio of titles by empowering independent developers to succeed. Previous experience in gaming, business development, product strategy and partnership management is preferred. The ability to see the big picture yet successfully manage the details is critical.

The role demands a self-starter who excels at connecting internally to key stakeholders and influencers, and managing multiple external partner requests simultaneously. Service and solution-focused communications with external partners is a must. The candidate should have a broad understanding of not only the gaming industry in general, but Microsoft's gaming platforms. Additionally, the candidate should expect to advocate for new partner opportunities, be able to articulate Microsoft gaming strategy to partners, and serve as a key contact for all partner related matters.
As a Developer Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that developers have a smooth journey through the development process, managing developers at all stages of the publishing process. This includes mastering the development and publishing process at Microsoft for Xbox One and Windows 10, direct outreach to developers, and responding to inquiries from developers via email and at events. You will work with our database system to track developers and projects through all stages of the process.
Your expertise and responsibilities will include:
Helping developers through the publishing process on Windows 10 and Xbox One
Bringing new content to Microsoft gaming platforms
An appreciation for working with small sized companies and the issues that are important to them
Maintaining a curiosity and passion about the gaming industry and ecosystem
Identifying areas where Microsoft can partner to create win/win opportunities with gaming partners
Evangelizing partnership opportunities internally
Externally evangelizing the vision for Microsoft gaming platforms
Coordinating internal consensus and execution on projects
Process management, evaluation, and improvement
Representing Microsoft at trade and consumer events

Organizational Communication:
Be effective in communicating to, and dealing at, all levels of an organization (producer to CEO - or producer who is the CEO)
Enhance existing and build new, strong relationships with publishing partners
Have a point of view, have a voice, be a strategic thinker
Additional Requirements:
Passion for video games
Minimum 3 years of experience in the video game industry
Minimum 1 year managing partner relationships as a primary point of contact
Eye for detail and appreciation of process
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to drive results across functional areas, including program management, legal, engineering, marketing, business development
Analysis skills, and the ability to achieve objectives and deliver results with multiple partners simultaneously
Demonstrated success with working on complex projects and partnerships
Effective leadership and project management skills working on multiple projects and initiatives against tight timelines
Strong team player with solid cross group collaboration skills in relationship building
Demonstrated issue resolution ability
Ability to work in a disruptive technology space that is quickly evolving
Strong presentation skills
BA/BS or equivalent experience required
