Microsoft is a world leader in the design of personal computer input devices. We are currently looking for a person with a passion for technology to drive test methodology development and product verification for PC peripherals. As a design verification engineer, the candidate will play a key role in architecting test processes, tools, and methodologies for use across Microsoft Hardware's product portfolio as well as bring new products to market by leading test and validation activity on fast paced multi-disciplinary product development teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
As a member of the design verification team, the candidate will be responsible for the complete end to end verification of our products to ensure a fantastic user experience. The candidate will participate in the development of our products from product inception to mass production.

The Candidate will:
o Test advanced touch systems and ensure that results are produced with accuracy and clarity.
o Identify product risk areas
o Use statistical data analysis techniques to identify critical performance metrics and limits.
o Manage equipment and ensure the equipment is calibrated and in good order

Minimum Qualifications:
o Minimum BSEE/BSCE with 1- 3 years of experience
o Familiarity with touch systems and controllers.
o Familiar with touch test robots and safety precautions needed to run them.
o Detailed working knowledge of touch systems.
o A successful candidate must be able to implement and run a test plan.
o Ability to develop and execute adversarial testing along with debugging failures for root cause analysis.
o Candidate must have skills in creating and debugging test patterns.
o Candidate must understand testing at both module and system level.
o Familiarity with automation and scripting languages is a plus.

The Candidate will:
Participate as a development team member and work closely with design, marketing and user experience teams.
Develop new test architectures and comprehensive test plans.
Identify product risk areas and mitigate them through characterization and analysis.
Be the customer advocate and translate customer use scenarios into measurable system performance attributes and test parameters.
Use statistical data analysis techniques to identify critical performance metrics and limits.
Interface with the Manufacturing Test team and provide critical to quality parameters and limits.
He/she will be expected to lead technical teams consisting primarily of verification engineers in order to meet verification, validation and test deliverables.
Manage external vendors and resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience in design and/or verification of hardware devices.
Knowledge of Visual Basic, C, C++ or C#.
Electrical engineering fundamentals.
Ability to demonstrate a strong skill-set in analytical problem solving, a history of increasing responsibilities and decision-making experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communications.
Additional desirable qualifications:
Experience in design and verification of high volume consumer electronic devices.
Detailed knowledge of USB device firmware, including HID, and proven track record for USB protocol analysis and debug.
Knowledge of wireless technologies and implementations (e.g. 802.11x, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz).
Working knowledge of firmware, software and/or embedded systems.
Experience with design verification of embedded software (FW) and real time operating systems.
Experience working with Asian partners to bring high volume consumer products into production.
Experience in Windows Programming.
Experience and/or knowledge of capacitive sensor technologies.
Experience and/or knowledge of haptic technologies.
