Are you a device geek who loves talking trends and technology? Are you competitive and willing to take on big challenges with global scale in multi-billion dollar categories? Do you have the experience and leadership capacity to partner with and influence the course of some of our largest and most innovative device portfolios with major device manufacturers from the Americas? The Microsoft OEM team is looking for a dynamic leader with a rare combination of technical acumen, business insight and influence skills to lead our design in, portfolio management and technical engagements with major Windows multi-national device manufacturers in the Americas.

The design in leader will fuse the talents of HW and SW product planning, a world class device seller and a strong manager and cross functional leader to drive our technical and early business development efforts with a major Microsoft partner across PC, Phone, Server and Embedded. Devices will span commercial, public sector, consumer and industrial markets. This rare leader will come to the job with extensive sales and/or business development experience in the Software and Services or Device sectors (15+ years), knowledge of the consumer and/or commercial device markets spanning PC, Mobile and Embedded (10+ years) and an electrical engineering, computer sciences or equivalent degree (or on the job technical experience).

We are looking for someone who:
o is an excellent communicator, who understands how device businesses are run and is fluent in the latest device, SW and OS related technologies to be a trusted advisor to executives, product planners, CTOs, procurement managers and engineering teams inside of our partners and with our internal product development and marketing teams.
o As this is a sales role, a proven track record to influence and land deals is critical as is a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota.
o This is also a management role leading a senior team of personnel with similar business and technical pedigrees so a track record of successful management and leadership experiences is also required.
o The ability to plan, lead and think critically is essential as the role is not just about landing today's numbers but creating portfolio and technology plans that set up our sales and share success for years to come - so long-term thinking, the ability to see around corners, advocate for the unexpected and the ability to think multiple moves ahead are essential.
o Lastly, a track record working with the Americas partners and employees is preferred.

Account Technology Sales

The ATS is responsible to own and drive design wins and technical sales engagement with a top volume multi-national OEM partner. This individual will support the partnership by working internally across our OEM sales and marketing teams as well as directly with Windows engineering and marketing teams to drive delivery of compelling Windows devices. Winning in the highly competitive device market requires a tenacious individual with the capability to achieve design KPIs resulting in a strong Windows portfolio across various form factors while managing the complexity of a multi-stakeholder engagement between two large companies.

Experience managing partnerships in the technology industry and the strong desire to deliver unique and innovative Windows devices on time that result in share and revenue growth for both Microsoft and the OEM are core attributes for this role. Also, proven success designing, selling and/or marketing technology products is a must to excel in this position.

Finally we are looking for an individual who loves to "geek out" on the newest PCs phones and tablets on all platforms and has a solid technical understanding of the manufacturing and supply chain for these devices.

Responsibilities:
Influence the OEM to deliver the most impactful portfolio of Windows devices possible, lighting up key software and hardware features to ensure consumers and businesses love their experience on the device
Grow into a Microsoft product expert to sell-in Microsoft products, become an evangelist for new features and technologies
Represent Microsoft's interests in the product lifecycle, particularly the design/architecture phase of new devices, across all levels of interaction within the OEM partner's organization. Articulate and close Microsoft's short and long term product strategies, approach while landing program participation and team KPIs
Work with different groups within Microsoft to deliver products on time to meet market window, promotional periods and key consumer electronics selling season. Resolve issues between Microsoft the OEM customer and their suppliers related to product launches
Support partnerships across diverse groups within both companies to invent and deliver new solutions.
Develop and execute plans that effectively address obstacles as we encounter them and use these plans as a tool for facilitate interaction between countries/regions and HQ for speedy and sustainable recovery.
Be a strong partner advocate for this OEM partner within the OEM division and with subsidiaries and regions, evangelizing their products, marketing plans, initiatives and results with organizational stakeholders (i.e., Microsoft product teams, senior leaders across Microsoft OEM marketing and Microsoft OEM Engineering)..
Keep product one-pagers and design database up-to-date with respect to all details on the product working with technical leads and OEM interface points.
Lead day-to-day tracking of status on key products. Align priorities to resolve issues based on business needs. Escalate roadblocks and schedule risks. Drive internal partners (v-teams) at the working level in other Microsoft teams to deliver unique experiences in the market.

Required Experiences & Skills:

1. Candidates should possess 6+ years of senior technical sales experience, have an outstanding track record of delivering results and can demonstrate critical and creative thinking. MBA is a plus.
2. Highly skilled at cross-team virtual team management in a highly complex and matrix environment and can lead others that do not directly report to them.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication ability with requisite interpersonal skills to partner, collaborate and build relationships with our customer and with Microsoft stakeholders (i.e., Microsoft product teams, Microsoft OEM marketing and Microsoft OEM Engineering).
4. Ability to align priorities and drive them across virtual teams and develop new business opportunities and priorities for future action while being able to focus on results during the fiscal year.
5. Analytical skills that allow individual/team to extract core data from an abundance of sources, drawing conclusions and translating those into action by the partner in terms of Microsoft technology adoption and influence on product design
6. Track record of collaboration and organizational agility to overcome obstacles and achieve objectives/results within and across groups.
7. Creatively develops original ideas, approaches and solution to typical, unusual or difficult situations or problems.
8. Customer focused, very responsive and action oriented to meet partner needs while maintaining a positive, professional image of Microsoft.
Position is located in Redmond, WA or Austin, TX and requires some travel (approximately 30%)
