The OEM Global Consulting team is looking for a Windows fundamentals experienced engineer who can contribute to engagements with client OEMs, ODMs, Intel and Windows teams to help bring up new Windows devices. On the job activities would include triaging device bring-up issues (typically driver related) using existing Windows ADK tools, resolving performance impacting problems, and providing recommendations and guidance to partners on enabling new Windows features for the best customer experience. This position requires expertise on one or more Windows fundamental areas (storage, UEFI, firmware, kernel, network, performance, and/or battery). The ideal candidate should have depth expertise in Windows internals, a breadth of Windows fundamentals understanding, and has demonstrated leadership in triaging and understanding Windows device issues. Existing roles as a hands-on Technical PM or Software Developer in a fundamentals area for Windows Client, Server, Embedded, or Mobile product groups are strongly aligned to having relevant experiences for this position,

The Global Consulting team is part of OEM Technical Sales (OTS) whose goal is to work with partners to help them build amazing and competitive Windows devices. We work on desktop, notebook, tablets, and mobile devices. Our career paths and levels include senior IC and leadership positions. The role includes significant business insight, marketing, and partner interaction, all of which are great experiences for just about any long term career goals.

Job activities may include:
o Driving ODMs and OEMs with Tablet/SoC bring up and certification through hands on assistance.
o Leading ADK and HCK training, execution, troubleshooting and analysis.
o Representing Microsoft and OES in both engineering partner engagements with senior executives.
o Giving engineering presentations relating to Windows internals and devices.
o Helping drive OEM and ODM device build of materials suggestions for competitive key scenarios.

In general, candidates need to have:
o Multiple ship cycle of experience in a development or hands-on role working on performance, devices, battery life, deployment, CPU/Chipsets or other OS fundamentals areas. (Or equivalent experience.)
o Expert level troubleshooting skills including use of the kernel debugger, precision questioning, code analysis, Windows kits and other tools.
o Proven customer and cross team collaboration experience.
o Passion for team health and peer development.
o Proactive communication skills and the ability to be an effective influencer.
o Proven capability as a public speaker and instructor.

This position will require 5-20% travel. Destinations include China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the US. It may also include Europe and South America countries. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
