The WW Windows Category Team is at the heart of our consumer business at Microsoft, working closely with retail partners around the world to ensure that they are assorting the Windows devices that will give their consumers the best possible Windows experience and ensuring that Windows is a profitable business for them. With more than 1.5 billion Windows users in the world, we have an incredible opportunity ahead of us to ensure that these users stay a part of the Windows eco-system as we transition our company to a mobile first cloud first world.

In the role of Communications and Community Manager you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Windows Category Community around the world, made up of close to 100 people in more than 50 countries to ensure that we deliver guidance and other information that helps them do their jobs well. By managing a variety of communication tools and resources such as a newsletter, Yammer, a SharePoint site, in-person meetings and events, regular field calls, and more, we ensure that this community stays connected to the corporate team as well as to each other to learn, share, and deliver on our business objectives.
The role is responsible for all on-boarding of new community members, to ensure that they have the resources and connections they need to ramp quickly, as well as to pair them with a peer mentor who can support them on a day to day basis.
In addition, the role is responsible for coordinating and collaborating closely across several teams including Windows Marketing, OEM and other Category Teams to ensure we are well aligned in our messaging, content, and other field connection points.
Lastly, this individual will manage a vendor who will support the team and work on multiple projects.
The person who fills this role needs to have experience working in a fast-paced environment, with very strong collaboration skills, and incredible attention to detail. This person needs to be very well-organized to manage multiple projects with tight timelines and have a strong awareness of cultural differences.
The ability to influence without authority for win-win results, and the ability to work as part of a virtual team, based across multiple time zones will lend to this role and having manager experience is also useful. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications & Skills:
o Strong cross-group collaboration skills with ability to build strong partnerships across Windows Marketing, CCG, and Finance teams.
o Program management experiences and proven examples of driving projects, solution, or deliverables to closure.
o Strong communication skills and ability to provide thought leadership across varied stakeholders, including executive presence.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with agility to ramp quickly across diverse businesses.
o Ability to deal with ambiguity, navigate through uncertain situations and quickly adapt to change.
o Proven track record for delivering timely, quality and customer focused results.
o Ability to clearly prioritize critical decisions and effectively manage complex follow up activities
o Drive multiple tasks, projects, and deliverables in parallel to effectively achieve results through a largely indirect group of internal Microsoft partners.
