SUMMARY:

The mission of the Microsoft Retail Stores is to profitably showcase Microsoft technology and illuminate our innovation story, by transforming the buying and ownership experience for Microsoft devices, software and services.

The Microsoft Store seeking an ecommerce Category Manager to drive category merchandising planning, implementation and optimization, creative development, promotion execution, and general site maintenance functions. The ideal candidate will have previous consumer category management and merchandising experience, and proven success working in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment. They will also be skilled project managers with an eye for planning and execution process improvements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Own revenue target attainment for assigned category/categories.
- Drive cross-team collaboration with buyers, merchandisers, product marketing teams and other online functional teams.
- Drive category marketing and merchandising calendar to provide visibility for all roadmaps, designs, marketing stakeholder teams: engineering, marketing, demand generation and product merchandising.
- Drive top- and bottom-line performance by optimizing category management strategies and tactics.
- Increase site conversion through best in class storytelling, promotion, UX optimization across MicrosoftStore.com.
- Manage site experience to drive KPIs such as traffic, attach, NSAT, and revenue.
- Support ongoing site optimization efforts making data-driven decisions while working with store analytics. Drive optimization by designing and managing site test plans, coordinating implementation with Production and Web Development resources as well as executing basic A/B testing via our content management system.
- Align with physical MS Store counterparts to ensure the Microsoft Store campaigns, offers, product roadmap, etc. is consistent across online and offline experiences.
- Working in collaboration with Site Merchandisers, manage creation, placement and optimization of site merchandising (including promotions, landing pages, banners, etc.) through continual testing and refinement of site execution. Coordinate across Category Management, Content, and Production.
- Work in collaboration with the buying team to ensure product assortment and volume is aligned with customer needs.
- Coordinate and manage site inventory visibility across teams to insure a positive customer experience.
- Monitor sales across the category, weighing availability attributes, modify the sales and merchandising plan to optimize for top performing products and boost sales of low performers. Goal is to optimize and drive sales to achieve and/or exceed sales targets.
- Coordinate and manage the site search attribute values with product management teams.
- Analyze site traffic and conversion through cart analysis, purchase funnel studies and cross-sell/up-sell trials. Deliver and execute recommendations to improve site performance.
- Act as key member of the category management team taking on special projects as required during the holiday and other high-profile selling seasons.
- Optimize the product onboarding process and product lifecycle management through coordination with the production team. Look across onboarding analytics and key stakeholders to identify process improvements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3-5+ years of ecommerce merchandising experience with a high traffic online retailer. Category management background a plus.
- BA/BS degree required
- Experience using multiple marketing levers to drive revenue for business; P&L management experience a plus project management experience and a strong ability to drive improvements in established processes
- Ability to work effectively within fast paced, diverse cross functional team
- Experience with ecommerce analytics tools (Omniture, WebTrends, etc.)
- Experience with site merchandising tools and content management systems
- Understanding of digital marketing principles desired (SEO, SEM, affiliates, and email)
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Strong analytical skills and highly comfortable using numbers to drive impact
- MS Office proficiency
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills required
