The Microsoft Xbox Team is responsible for a wide array of products including Xbox 360 and Xbox One game consoles, Kinect, high-performance game controllers, and gaming headsets. We are looking for a Technician with mixed expertise in Audio, Acoustics, Design Verification and Electronics to enable world-class consumer electronic products.

Responsibilities:
o Perform design verification of audio and acoustic components, sub-systems and products in an engineering lab environment
o Setup, organization, maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment.
o Participate in lab and test planning
o Root cause failures and provide documentation and presentation of all test results to cross-functional teams

Requirements:
o 5+ Years experience performing design verification for shipping, high-volume products in an engineering lab environment
o Proven ability to operate test equipment including some of the following: multi-meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, acoustic test equipment/environments (e.g. Anechoic Chambers, Reverb Chambers Measurement Microphones/Loudspeakers, HATS, LMS, Klippel, Audio Precision, HEAD acoustics)
o Understanding of basic acoustic transducer/component parameters and test methods. Ability to read component specification sheets and validate component performance with minimal guidance.
o Proven ability to perform electrical rework, soldering, prototyping, test fixture design and fabrication
o Ability to use a variety of workshop/woodshop tools and able to lift/move heavy objects
o Knowledge of industry standardized test methods and ability to perform scripting/test automation a bonus
o Demonstrable passion for music and audio
o Decisive, responsible and action-oriented with strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills

Requirements:

o Bachelor's Degree: EE, ME or Acoustics Engineering preferred, or demonstrable technical knowledge paired with experience
o 5+ Years experience performing design verification for shipping, high-volume products in an engineering lab environment
o Proven ability to operate test equipment including some of the following: multi-meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, acoustic test equipment/environments (e.g. Anechoic Chambers, Reverb Chambers Measurement Microphones/Loudspeakers, HATS, LMS, Klippel, Audio Precision, HEAD acoustics)
o Understanding of basic acoustic transducer/component parameters and test methods. Ability to read component specification sheets and validate component performance with minimal guidance.
o Experience developing new tests and demonstrated understanding of audio/acoustics measurement theory
o Experience developing requirements documents, specifications and test plans. Ability to be responsible for audio design verification activities on at least one program.
o Demonstrable passion for music and audio

Requirements:
o Bachelor's Degree in Acoustics, Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
o 3-5 Years experience performing audio design verification for shipping, high-volume products in an engineering lab environment
o Experience using anechoic and reverb chambers. Experience with measurement transducers and one or more of the following audio test interfaces: Audio Precision, HEAD acoustics, Soundcheck, NI LabVIEW, B&K, Klippel, LMS.
o Demonstrated knowledge of measurement methods, theory, and industry standardized tests (ITU, 3GPP, ETSI, IEEE, ANSI, ISO, Lync/Skype)
o Experience using Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, VB, C or similar for audio test automation, scripting
o Demonstrable passion for music and audio
o Strong communication, initiative, and teamwork skills
o Ability to travel to support manufacturing builds
