The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) leads team members in the store to serve customers and achieve goals through coaching and driving key metrics. The ASM will instruct employees on performance expectations, policy, and procedure. The ASM will invest in the overall growth of individual team members.

Key Responsibilities
Collaboration & Leadership
o Support the selection and attraction of high-energy, team members who obsess about the customer experience.
o Lead the team in education, building confidence in selling and service skills while empowering employees to grow.
o Provide recognition, feedback, development, and growth opportunities focused on producing the store's next leaders.
o Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with in-market employees, customers, corporate partners, and community organizations.
Drive for Results
o Increase sales through flawless execution of corporate/store direction and rallying team support of Microsoft Retail Stores strategies.
o Oversee and regularly monitor all operating processes, including staffing levels, scheduling, and payroll.
o Ensure proper cash handling, merchandising, and inventory control processes are precisely communicated and followed.
o Build loyalty in the customer base through steps of service and customer engagement
o Own an area of responsibility in the daily functions of the store.
Judgment
o Maintain a safe working environment and protect company assets including people, merchandise, facilities, and money by learning, understanding, and following all company policies and practices.
o Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop employees while achieving all employment-related compliance requirements.
o Engage, educate, excite, and empower employees and customers with the same level of passion and commitment.

Additional Skills and Abilities Required
o Have a love for Microsoft, be a brand evangelist, and have a deep understanding of Microsoft products (Windows, Office, Xbox, Windows Phone, Surface, and services).
o Lead by example, take pride in your work, and enjoy helping and developing others while creating fun environments and energizing people through your passion.
o Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high-level attention to detail.

Qualifications and Experience
o A college degree is preferred with 3 years of retail leadership experience in a consumer electronics and/or high-end environment.
o Have the ability to work your regularly scheduled shift, travel and be mobile throughout our stores, and be able to lift products with or without assistance.

Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager will perform most of the functions of the store manager on a rotational basis, with primary responsibility for a functional area of the store.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Recruit, interview, hire, train and develop a team of friendly, customer focused sales and support staff.
- Maintain an in-store learning environment that delivers the most knowledgeable and skilled team in retail.
- Provide feedback, development and growth opportunities focused on producing the next team of retail store leaders and driving attrition to below 20% annually.
- Drive sales through effective execution and team support of Microsoft retail strategies.
- Protect company assets including people, merchandise, facilities and money.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 3-5 Years Retail store management experience
- 3-5 years of high traffic/high volume retail experience
- 3-5 years of people management experience
- College Degree Preferred
- Previous experience working with and selling technology preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Experience managing in a customer service environment a plus
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Ability to develop and motivate employee team
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail necessary

Lifting with or without assistance (loading and unloading all those great products and carrying purchases out for our customers may be required!
