The Active Directory (AD) team is seeking highly talented and motivated software engineers with strong machine learning/statistical background to join a new effort in delivering "enterprise intelligence". We are building these enterprise intelligence capabilities into AD to automatically detect, help prevent and mitigate security attacks/breaches, enterprise use of cloud applications, application usage anomalies and mis-configured application entitlements. These capabilities will be delivered through our Identity and Access management offerings available to Office 365 and Azure customers.

Job Responsibilities include:

o Develop high-performance machine learning systems for detecting abnormality, intrusion, fraud, masquerading, malware, etc.
o Deliver end to end solution to analyze data that originates from users, services, or other automated systems
o Develop infrastructure as required to enable new experiences in enterprise intelligence by deriving meaning from vast array of enterprise data about users and their activity
o Actively engage other teams in Active Directory, Office 365 and Azure to identify problems and areas where data mining/machine learning/applied statistics can be used, and lead the development of solutions to these problems
o Act as an expert in the area of data mining/machine learning/statistics to serve the fast growing needs of Active Directory
o Provide technical leadership to other developers

Qualifications:

o 5+ years of educational or professional experience in applying machine learning and data mining techniques to real problems with copious amounts of data
o Strong algorithmic background and experience applying knowledge to solve real problems
o Experience with very large scale data processing/analysis (a.k.a. big data)
o Strong C++ and/or C# skills (C# preferred) and understanding of software design patterns
o Experience developing high-performance service-oriented solutions
o 5+ years of experience developing production quality code in a professional software engineering role
o Ability to work independently to actively identify and drive solutions for evolving business problems
o A Ph.D degree in Computer Science is highly desired. Candidates with a Ph.D in other quantifiable fields (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics) with applied practical experience and programming background are also desirable
