The Customer and Market Research (CMR) team is one of the largest Market Research departments in the world and serves the company's core businesses. We are based at our HQ in Redmond, WA. We are seeking an experienced analytics and insights professional to further accelerate the scope and pace of CMR's Data and Marketing sciences practice which combines the power of deep insight from traditional market research with the long view of trended syndicated data and the potential of big data.

Candidates will need the thought leadership to drive the practice forward and the people leadership skills to develop the critical relationships with data providers and internal stakeholders. This IC role sits within the Corporate Research team in CMR and will work across a variety of internal audiences and geographies. Roles and responsibilities include:

o Build conceptual models that demonstrate the dynamics of the business (how the world works) which then lead to delivering data driven models leveraging our existing data/assets
o Once tested and validated, scale models across a variety of businesses
o Develop deep understanding of internal datasets and integrate across multiple data sources to provide insights around key areas
o Provide recommendation and requirements around our survey design to ensure data is structured appropriately for business needs
o Innovate how we analyze our broad survey data by bringing together information across studies or additional data (e.g. BI, Financial, etc.) into our analysis
o Be a thought leader for the organization in data and marketing sciences

The ideal candidate for this position will thrive by creating, building, and driving in partnership with others; being smart about leveraging what is there but also envisioning what isn't there. This requires a candidate with deep analytical skills, and a creative and systematic mind, who is solution-oriented and driven to action. This is about making a difference by generating valuable insight; and using analytic tools to uncover unknowns. Previous experiences dealing with multiple types of data sets is a must (big/small, primary/secondary etc).
The candidate must be a highly collaborative, team-minded person who doesn't need to "own" everything in order to drive better outcomes for the business and for (and within) the team. The candidate must be able to take calculated risks and have strong storytelling skills to effectively connect stakeholder requirements with the insights from models/ data. The candidate will deliver results working together with other team members on a regular cadence while meeting insight needs.

Minimum Requirements:
o 5 years' experience with marketing measurement, analytics and reporting including deep experience with survey data (sampling, experimental design, statistical testing and other forms of non-survey based data (e.g. behavioral data)
o At least 2 years' experience in hands-on involvement in customer and market data analysis using advanced analytic techniques such as CART/ Decision Tree, cluster, regression, factor, bayes nets, neural nets, agent-based modeling.
o Ability to "talk" in advanced analytical language and also translate business issues into technical language and vice versa.
o Ability to assimilate new ideas and information quickly, to successfully recommend actions using objective data, and influence the actions taken based on that data.
o Ability to maintain balance between solid "pragmatism" and "scientific rigor" to meet the needs of a dynamic business
o Experience in developing and presenting strategic recommendations from complex analytics in an easy and engaging manner to executive/senior-level audiences.
o Excellent cross-group collaboration and Influence skills with at least mid-level managers and experience managing relationships and negotiating win-win scenarios with stakeholders.
o Team management skills - mentor vendor analysts, manage and train data providers so they deliver high quality work and data.
o Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task in order to move forward in highly dynamic situations.
o Experience with statistical packages such as SAS, R, PowerViews and deep experience with advanced Excel functionality
o Working knowledge of leading analytic environments, for both structured (relational data warehouses, SQL, etc.) and unstructured data.
o Undergraduate degree a must. MBA or Masters/PhD in Business or a Quantitative Discipline preferred.
