Account Executive

Are you interested in joining Microsoft's Enterprise and Partner Group sales team? We are seeking highly motivated individuals that will manage the strategic relationships with our customers in the upstate New York geography.

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for achieving revenue goals by selling Microsoft capabilities, technologies and solutions across several named accounts. Specifically, you will define, document, and execute an account plan to lead a team of subject matter experts who will proactively propose solutions that address your customers' highest priority business opportunities. Capabilities are comprised from on premise software, cloud offerings and consulting services and devices, focused on specific use cases for the end user profiles of the account set.

The key to success in this position is recognizing revenue potential, establishing a clear buying vision with the customer, developing a thorough pursuit plan, and executing efficiently. The successful candidate have strong business acumen. Understanding critical line of business operations, identifying challenges, and framing the challenges to a Microsoft solution it critical. Must be able to build relationships with CxO's as well as at all levels in an organization both within IT and the lines of business. Additionally, this person must creatively tackle complex sales challenges, overcome competitive threats, and make decisions to optimize the impact of a broad team of resources assigned to the accounts through a matixed account management system.

Establishing exceptionally strong executive relationships with line of business and corporate IT is critical in this role. You will have overall responsibility for your accounts and will be expected to work with the solutions sales team to drive wins, and engage Microsoft Consulting Services and partners to deliver successful projects. In this role, you will work directly with an account technology strategist (pre-sales technical resource) to drive revenue and deployment objectives at your named accounts.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing CxO relationships within complex organizations and using those relationships to consistently exceed quota expectations. You must be comfortable interfacing at all levels within assigned accounts, while possessing knowledge of business opportunities and the impact of technology on the customer's business. Candidates must be passionate about the benefits of technology generally and especially the value that Microsoft provides.

A minimum of 7-10 years of enterprise account management experience in a relevant, technology sales environment is required. Experience with a solution selling methodology is mandatory. Familiarity with Microsoft's product lines is desired.

Candidates must be able to think strategically, while successfully managing to short term goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. A BA/BS degree is required with an M.B.A. a plus. Upstate New York geography is preferable. Minimal overnight travel will be required, with the majority of travel being regional and by car.
